The Encyclopedia of Life

The website for The Encyclopedia of Life launched today.

Next to it being a great initiative overall to me it looks like it is going to be a great example of a functional and technological mashup. The introduction video shows some very interesting examples.

I wonder how the site is built and which technologies they are using. I am looking forward to seeing the final result.
